Full Time Positions


 

  • Forklift Operator

We have forklift operator positions available in our facility in Oxford, NS.  Shift work will be necessary as this plant operates seven days a week.  We are looking for both qualified forklift operators and individuals interested in forklift training.

Requirements and Duties :

- grade XII education or equivalent preferred

- experience operating a high reach truck (stand on) would be an asset  eg: Model EASIR45TT-MB Raymond

- must be able to work unsupervised and work well with others

- must be able to work in freezer temperatures

- computer training and food safety training will be an asset

- safety training will be required

- must be able to keep organized, up to date records and keep work area tidy

- may be asked to operate different kinds of forklifts  eg: sit down, counter balance, stand on, electric walkie jacks or tennant sweeper

  • Product Inspectors / Line Workers

    Duties include inspecting product on a conveyor belt, making up cartons, packing product.


     

  • General Labourers

Duties include packing, palletizing, shipping / receiving.

Qualifications :

- minimum grade 12 preferred but not required

Our production operates on a continuous 24 hour / 7 day cycle and shift work is necessary.  No telephone calls, please.  We will contact the successful applicants.


  • Quality Assurance

Some of the duties include :  ensuring quality product being processed to specifications and action to make required changes when necessary ; ensuring proper coding for all produce produced on shift ; monitoring of scales, metal detector and coder every hour and procedures to follow ; and certifying quality standards for all product.

Requirements :

- grade 12 education or equivalent necessary

- previous experience in a food processing laboratory, quality control, or 2 year food technology diploma would be an asset

- background and / or training in microbiology would be an asset

- computer skills

- strong interpersonal skills

- ability to work unsupervised

- applicants must be able to work all products and on rotating shifts

Seasonal Positions


  • Summer Students / Production Workers

We are proud of the number of students we employ during the summer months, especially during August.  Many returning High School and University students find employment within our facilities in Halfway River, Port Williams and Oxford.

Requirements :

- must be 16 years of age or older

- must be able to work weekends and shift work

- must have own transportation to and from work

- steel toed safety footwear (Oxford facility only)
